dc.descriptionEs importante mencionar que, en América Latina, un gran porcentaje de la población se encuentran subalimentada; según datos emanados por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación – FAO, y la Organización Mundial de la Salud, hecho que se ha originado teniendo en cuenta los diversos cambios producidos por la globalización (Hidalgo, 2014). En todo lo relacionado con las actividades agrícolas, se ha observado un aumento en la demanda por los alimentos, y las materias primas, que ha conllevado a que se refleje un aumento en las inversiones extranjeras, situación que ha incidido en países como Colombia, ya que el 23% de la población habita en las zonas rurales. dc.description.abstractIt is important to mention that, in Latin America, a large percentage of the population is undernourished; according to data issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations - FAO, and the World Health Organization, a fact that has originated taking into account the various changes produced by globalization (Hidalgo, 2014). In everything related to agricultural activities, an increase in the demand for food and raw materials has been observed, which has led to an increase in foreign investment, a situation that has affected countries such as Colombia, 23% of the population lives in rural areas. (DANE, 2017) It should be noted that among the Goals for sustainable development is to put an end to poverty and hunger throughout the world by the year 2030, to combat inequalities within and between countries, to build peaceful, just and inclusive, to protect human rights and promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, and to ensure lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources (UN, 2015), but the problem of hunger and poverty The global level has increased in recent decades. On the other hand, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has pointed out that the seriousness of the current world hunger crisis is the result of decades of negligence and little investment. in the agricultural sector (Martínez, F., Colino, J. & Gómez, M. Á. 2016). Taking into account the above, it can be noted that there is a high percentage of the population afflicted by hunger, representing 16% of the population of developing countries. Grouping in rural areas where their livelihoods are in the hands of agriculture, fishing, forests and livestock. (FAO & SAGARPA, 2012). From all this, discussions on family farming arise, which allows for strategies to eliminate the food problems that persist both in Latin America and in the world, as well as being essential in the change towards sustainable agricultural systems and the reactivation of economies. rural areas, generating stability, social roots and new development horizons (FAO, 2014)en_US
