The management of forest environmental liabilities in the District of Barranquilla has shown significant progress thanks to a solid regulatory and constitutional framework, as well as the implementation of local plans and strategies. However, persistent challenges, such as lack of resources, inter-agency coordination and the need for effective monitoring, require urgent attention. Taking advantage of the opportunities offered by technological innovation, institutional strengthening and private sector participation can significantly improve environmental management in Barranquilla, promoting more sustainable and balanced development in the region. The effective enforcement of regulations and the implementation of sustainable practices are essential to protect natural resources and improve environmental quality in the city, ensuring a greener and healthier future for its inhabitants.
